This painting is titled 'Red Mermaid' and is 20 x 24 inches and is wired and ready to hang. This painting is part of my mermaid series and it's the second one, painting #2 in the series. This one I'm focusing on the color red. . I wanted to focus on each color and make an interesting scene for each with an ethereal, innocent yet slight spooky vibe; also to add a burst of color to any area or room. I enjoy art that makes me hesitate and stare, noticing the details while questioning the story. I hope this series does this for the viewer. I've added a sunken ship in the background to add to the drama and mystery of the reds. The mermaid in the center is basking in the light that's cascading down. This feels like morning to me.
