This is a print of 'Water Gate'; An oil painting that I created in 2010. The inspiration is very strange. It was evening back when I lived in CO, and a storm had been building in the east, making the clouds out that way nearly black. Just then, the sun peaked out behind in the west, reflecting on my neighbor's window across the fence. It looked like a golden portal, surrounded by dark blue/black clouds behind it. It was beautiful! So when I took to the canvases, I painted a large, gold square in the middle, surrounded by dark blues and black, and went from there. I've always been fascinated with portals, gates, and doors. They can be frightening but also a time of great growth and transformation.
