This is 'Green Skeleton Gate' acrylic 2013. For this painting and series, I was inspired by my neighbor's giant bougainvillea plant that grew and cascaded down their fence, creating a wall of small, brightly colored flowers. Also, I've always been attracted to the deeper meaning and analogies with gates, doors and windows; like they could be a portal into another world, plane or dimension. I'll for sure create more paintings around that idea!
