"This is a painting that I decided to totally leave up to my higher power. I've been trying to become more spiritual the last two years since getting sober. I now pray, meditate and do yoga daily. These are just some activities that are taking space in my life and the result is: I have a much better way of life today. I'm more relaxed and experience peace of mind more often than I ever thought possible. I've surrendered to what is and to a power greater than myself. I had no idea before I began this painting what it would possibly be, I just began painting, feeling like I was guided by the colors themselves. I slowly began to see a spiral staircase emerging from the darkness at the bottom. I then saw a forest emerge there and maybe creatures inside that forest like a deer and spiritual beings. There is a dark figure next to the tree on the right side. This for me represents, temptations and dark shadows that do not have our best interests. Stay away from them and stick to the path of light! The staircase halfway up, turns into a simple staircase made of light and also happens to resemble a strand of human DNA ! Wow! I couldn't have come up with this idea on my own. There is definitely a hand; a power within me that is infinite and full of love. It is strong and all powerful and it runs through me and you. It seems to want to carry this message of hope and love. I'm grateful to listen better today. I hope to create more paintings in this new process."
