The original painting is sold and this is a print of ' Higher Self' oil 2010.
I got this idea by looking at a coffee table book of "The Cosmos" filled with beautiful images captured by Hubble Space Telescope of the galaxies. One of the images really caught my eye so I decided to paint it. The photograph I used as reference said it was a called "swan nebula". I researched what nebula meant and it means, "birth of a new star". I pretty much painted what I saw in the photograph; realistically. I then hung the painting in my basement to dry (in CO). Every time I'd walk down the basement stairs to do laundry, I'd look at the painting and I kept seeing a small white image in the top, middle appear; well it was almost there. I hadn't noticed it before. I decided to take the painting back down from the wall and enhance this little white, floating figure. After I added that detail, the painting truly felt finished. The little white figure represents for me, a loving being of light that loves and knows me, infinitely.
I print on the best paper for art. I print all my 8 1/2" by 11" and the 13" by 19" on Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper (see more here)
